First Minister folders: FoI release
Information requested
I have today noticed the First Minister is using a branded First Minister folder: https://twitter.com/ScotGovFM/status/1691431805910491136?s=20
I have looked at previous photos and this the first time this type of folder has been used. It is also different from the ones other Ministers uses.
I would like information on: 1) The reasons behind this new folder - what was the justification for the branded folders? 2) Who instigated the process to change the folders? 3) The number of branded folders that have been made/ordered 4) The cost of those branded folders 5) Communications regarding these folders, including but not limited to emails between the First Minister, the First Minister's Private Office, Special Advisers and civil servants. 6) The environmental credentials of the new folders.
Response
1) Folders are used by government leaders across the world to ensure the requisite level of document security and limit documents on view. The branding utilises the long-established logo for the First Minster’s office. 2) and 5) The Scottish Government does not hold this information. This is a formal notice under section 17(1) of FOISA that the Scottish Government does not have the information you have requested. 3) 500 were ordered, they are reusable and recyclable. 4) £606.09 for 500 5) The folders are made of cardboard and fully recyclable once they reach their end of life.
