Figures of survivors claiming Redress Scotland: FOI release
Information requested
Can you provide from December 2021 a month by month breakdown of the following to include part of August 2022:
Number of applications received from survivors or their representatives? Number of applications sent to the Redress Scotland panel and the number of applications still to be sent to the panel. Number of applications that were successful and unsuccessful. Number of case workers month by month dealing with claims and the total amount of claims.

1. Number of applications received from survivors or their representatives? The number of redress applications received from survivors or their representatives from the period of December 2021 to August 2022 are noted below. It is important to note these figures do not include applications for review.
December - 108 January - 402 February - 281 March - 234 April - 149 May - 135 June - 105 July - 79 August - 83 Total - 1,576
2. Number of applications sent to the Redress Scotland panel and the number of applications still to be sent to the panel. Number of Applications sent to RS for consideration (these figures do not include applications for review) :
December – 0 January - 0 February - 9 March - 26 April - 26 May - 28 June - 32 July - 41 August - 37
3. Number of applications that were successful and unsuccessful. Of the 139 determinations made by Redress Scotland (including outcomes on 6 review applications), 136 applications have received an offer of redress. 3 have received no offer of redress.
4. Number of case workers month by month dealing with claims and the total amount of claims. At the time of scheme launch in December 2021, 12 case workers were in post. There are currently 16 case workers in post. Case worker capacity will increase to 23, subject to successful recruitment.
