COVID-19 vaccination costs, suppliers & vaccination rollout: FOI release
Information requested
“1. Total number of COVID vaccinations given to residents of Scotland? 2. Cost to SNP Gov, Scottish NHS, Scottish other public bodies, per COVID vaccination? 3. Number of companies Scotland's SNP Gov negotiated with, or currently is in negotiation with for the supply of vaccines?”
Response
I have included a response to each of your questions below: Question 1 Section 25 of the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 (FOISA) exempts information from disclosure where the requester can reasonably obtain the information without making a request for it. I have provided a link to Coronavirus (COVID-19): daily data for Scotland which is updated at 2pm Monday to Friday and I hope you will find this helpful. Question 2 Under FOISA Section 33(2)(a) (commercial sensitivities), we are unable to provide this information on cost as it’s not in the public interest to release information identified as sensitive by a bidder/supplier and agreed as such by the Scottish Government. Question 3 COVID-19 vaccines are procured on a four nations basis via the UK Vaccines Taskforce part of the Department of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS). They work alongside suppliers to increase stability and security of supply to the four nations. Vaccines are purchased at Westminster level and whilst the option exists to negotiate with suppliers, this has not taken place so far. I have provided a link to the UK Vaccines Taskforce which gives information on their role. About FOI
