COVID-19 patient admissions: FOI release
Information requested
1. The number of patients at the date of this request, in hospitals in Scotland split by health board who were admitted due to Covid-19 .
2. the number of patients as at the date of this request in hospitals oh s in Scotland, split by health board, who were admitted for non-Covid reasons who have on admission or during their stay tested positive for Covid.
3. The number of patients in ICU in Scotland who were admitted to ICU for Covid related reasons.
4. The number of patients in ICU in scotland who were admitted to ICU for non-Covid reasons and have since tested positive for Covid.
5. The number of patients released from hospital in Scotland each week during August 2020 who had previously formed part of the ‘number of hospital in-patients’ statistic compiled and released daily by the Scottish a Government.

1. The number of patients at the date of this request, in hospitals in Scotland split by health board who were admitted due to Covid-19 . The Scottish Government publishes data daily on the number of people in hospital and ICU with COVID-19 by Health Board at the following link: https://www.gov.scot/publications/coronavirus-covid-19-trends-in-daily-data/ This measure has recently changed definition, the following blog post gives the reason behind these changes: https://blogs.gov.scot/statistics/2020/09/15/counting-people-in-hospital-with-covid-19/ Public Health Scotland publishes data on the number of daily COVID-19 admissions to hospital at the following link, however this data is not available by Health Board: https://beta.isdscotland.org/find-publications-anddata/population-health/covid-19/covid-19-statistical-report/9-september-2020/dashboard/

The number of patients released from hospital in Scotland each week during August 2020 who had previously formed part of the ‘number of hospital in-patients’ statistic compiled and released daily by the Scottish a Government. The Scottish Government publish a daily cumulative number of inpatients that have tested positive for COVID-19 and been discharged from hospital since March 5 here: https://www.gov.scot/publications/coronavirus-covid-19-daily-data-for-scotland/. The table below gives the cumulative total for Scotland on each Monday in August 2020:
