A copy of all information that you hold (including emails, phone messages, minutes of meetings and other documentation between the Scottish Government and the British Medical Association or the Scottish Government and the Royal College of General Practitioners which references the following:

- Physician Associates or PA/PAs

AND

- scope of practice

I enclose a copy of most of the information you requested in the format you asked for.

Under section 25(1) of FOISA, we do not have to give you information which is already reasonably accessible to you. If, however, you do not have internet access to obtain this information from the website(s) listed, then please contact me again and I will send you a paper copy. Some of the information you have requested would therefore fall within this and is available online. Firstly the NHS Education for Scotland (NES) Turas Page - which includes the MAPs Programme Board papers, and also minutes of meetings. You can access this here. NHS Scotland Medical Associate Professions (MAPs) Programme Board | Turas | Learn. There is also an exemption under Section 's.27(1) Information intended for future publication', in relation to recent meetings of the MAPs Programme Board. As mentioned, all minutes and papers of these meetings are published via the aforementioned link.

Additionally, the Physician Associate Survey undertaken by the Royal College of General Practitioners was within scope of your request, however can be found here PA survey report, June 2024.
