All correspondence between Ministers and Offices regarding the Saltire Prize in each of the last three years. All correspondence between Ministers/Offices and the Saltire Prize Bid Committee regarding in each of the last three years.

You clarified on 13 February 2018 that you are looking for information on:

Correspondence relating the prize being awarded or not awarded Committee members requesting support/information from the Scottish Government with regards to the Saltire Prize and the marine sector Correspondence relating the membership of the saltire prize committee and website.

I enclose a copy of most of the information you requested in the format you asked for (paper or electronic copies) for the following three years:

While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance we are unable to provide some of the information you have requested because exemptions under sections 29(1)(a) (policy formulation); 30(b)(i) (free and frank provision of advice in relation to ministerial/official discussions and policy formulation); 30(b)(ii) (free and frank exchange of views for the purposes of deliberation in relation to ministerial/official discussions and policy formulation); 30(b)(ii) (free and frank exchange of views for the purposes of deliberation in relation to communications with external stakeholders); 30(b)(i) and 30(b)(ii) (free and frank exchange of views for the purposes of deliberation in relation to SPQ background notes, ministerial briefings, lines to take); and 38(1)(b) (personal information) of FOISA applies to that information. The reasons why these exemptions apply are explained in the annex to this letter.
