Information requested
You asked for a range of data on staff numbers in specific earnings brackets against a number of protected characteristics. The precise wording of the request has been included at Annex A.

The response covers staff in the Scottish Government Main bargaining unit within Scottish Government Core Directorates. The data is taken as at 31 December 2017.
In quantifying your request you asked that '[…] staff working part-time or less than full-time hours, the pay should be actual pay, not rounded up to full-time equivalent pay'. Using this methodology does not provide for a basis of comparing part time and full time paid staff on an equivalent value basis. It also results in 44 staff falling between your stated salary parameters. These staff are not detailed in the response but are included in the staff totals.
