Information requested

For information that the Scottish Government holds on the Effective Prescribing Programme (EPP) and the Effective Prescribing Programme Board (EPPB).

Response

I enclose a copy of some of the information you requested. While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance we are unable to provide all of the information you have requested because an exemption under section s.36(1) (legal advice) of FOISA applies to some of the information that we hold.

The reasons why we don't hold all the information you have requested is explained below.

Reasons for not providing information

The Scottish Government does not have all the information you have asked for because:

There is no statutory basis for the EPP. The selection process for inviting the two the patient representatives on to the EPPB was undertaken by NHS National Services Scotland. We do not hold any newsletters sent to Health Boards "summarising the position of each project and identifying areas for Boardsto act and respond upon".

Detected exemption language

While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance we are unable to provide all of the information you have requested because an exemption under section s.36(1) (legal advice) of FOISA applies to some of the information that we hold.
