AI used in submitting section 36 consent application objections or representations: FOI release
Information requested
Can you provide copies of any recorded information held since 1 January 2023 that discusses the use of artificial intelligence (AI), including generative AI, by individuals, community groups, campaign organisations, or other third parties submitting objections or representations in relation to Section 36 consent applications.
This should include any concerns, assessments, briefing papers, meeting notes, correspondence, or other recorded information discussing whether the use of AI-generated objections or representations could impact the determination of Section 36 consent applications.

Please find enclosed a copy of some of the information you requested within Annex A.
Please note, some of the information you requested has been withheld as an exemption under section 38(1) (b) (personal data) of FOISA applies to that information, this is because it is personal data of a third party and disclosing it would contravene the data protection principles in Article 5(1) of the General Data Protection Regulation and in Section 34(1) of the Data Protection Act 2018.
This exemption is not subject to the ‘public interest test’, so we are not required to consider if the public interest in disclosing the information outweighs the public interest in applying the exemption.
