Educational attainment and outcomes for refugee pupils: FOI release
Information requested
1. Attainment data (literacy, numeracy, qualifications) for pupils recorded as refugees or asylum seekers compared to the general population.
2. School exclusion rates and attendance data for this group.
3. Any data on progression to further education or employment.
Response
1. While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance the Scottish Government does not have the information you have requested. This is a formal notice under section 17(1) of FOISA that the Scottish Government does not have the information you have requested. Further analysis of data held by the Scottish Government may be possible as part of our “business as usual”, subject to consideration of legal, ethical and other factors. As additional analysis is required to generate the information you have requested, it is not covered under Freedom of Information legislation. If you still require this information, please re-send your request to school.stats@gov.scot, including years of data required, for further consideration by relevant staff within the Scottish Government.
