1. How much has the Scottish Government spent on plans to host Uefa Euro 2028, and a breakdown of these costs?

2. Could you supply all documentation held by the Scottish Government, including correspondence sent and received (including internal), minutes/notes from meetings, briefings and analysis, about Scotland National football teams being aired on terrestrial tv, i.e. the BBC, between January 1 2025 and the date of this FOI?

3. How much did the Scottish Government spend on bringing WWE to Glasgow and the Hydro for the Clash at the Castle PPV on June 15 2024, with a full breakdown of costs?

1. How much has the Scottish Government spent on plans to host Uefa Euro 2028, and a breakdown of these costs?

Below we have provided a breakdown, where possible, of Scottish Government costs on hosting UEFA EURO 2028 to the date of your request. We have categorised total costs into four groups: Project staffing, Consultation costs, Impact Assessment publication and External legal and independent assurance costs. These are taken at date of receipt of your request.

Project staffing: Policy development, stakeholder engagement, consultation, analysis and related activities in respect UEFA EURO 2028 are routinely carried out by Civil Servants on a daily basis, working across multi-disciplinary teams and on multiple workstreams simultaneously. Costings for specific activities are, therefore, not available. Currently the Scottish Government EURO 2028 Unit is made up of 1xC2, 3xC1, 2xB3, 2xB2. Details on Scottish Government pay ranges can be found here: Scottish Government Main pay ranges 2023 to 2025: FOI release - gov.scot A Scottish Government Deputy Director acts as Senior Responsible Owner for EURO 2028 and spends a proportion of their time on EURO 2028, while also working on other major events. The team also receives support from others in the Scottish Government as required.

UEFA EURO 2028 Commercial Rights Protection Consultation: Under section 25(1) of FOISA, we do not have to give you information which is already reasonably accessible to you. However, in the interests of being helpful, we have provided a link to the relevant material.

​​​​​​​External legal and independent assurance costs: The UEFA EURO 2028 Unit has engaged with external legal counsel to inform event planning for EURO 2028. Total costs to date are: £124,569.72 gross.

​​​​​​​We have completed our search and enclose a document relating to lines following the announcement, however an exemption under section 38(1)(b) of FOISA applies to some of the information because it relates to people below the grade of a senior civil servant.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

​​​​​​​3. How much did the Scottish Government spend on bringing WWE to Glasgow and the Hydro for the Clash at the Castle PPV on June 15 2024, with a full breakdown of costs?

​​​​​​​The Scottish Government did not spend any money bringing WWE to and the Hydro for the Clash at the Castle PPV on June 15 2024.

​​​​​​​While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance the Scottish Government does not have the information you have requested. This is a formal notice under section 17(1) of FOISA that the Scottish Government does not have the information you have requested.
