Information requested

On 4 June 2024, Cabinet agreed to establish new cross-government governance arrangements for future pandemic preparedness. "Our newly established Ministerial Oversight Group, cochaired by my colleagues the Cabinet Secretary for Justice and the Cabinet Secretary for Health will meet for the first time in the coming weeks". Could you supply all minutes/notes from these meetings so far, as well as who attended them, and how many have been held so far and the dates of these?

Response

I enclose a copy of the minutes of the first meeting of the Ministerial Oversight Group on future pandemic preparedness, held on 30 January 2025. These include the details of attendees at this meeting. The minutes from the second meeting of this group will be publicly available soon and an exemption under sections 27(1) has been applied.

While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance we are unable to provide some of the information you have requested because exemptions under sections 27(1), 29(1)(a), and 38 (1)(b) of FOISA apply to that information. The reasons why exemptions apply are explained in the Annex to this letter.
