1) The anticipated timescales for agreeing the 2025-26 pay award for Scottish Government employees.

2) The progress that has so far been made in relation to agreeing the pay award 2025-26 for Scottish Government employees.

3) What engagement has already taken place with unions in relation to the pay award for 2025-26 for Scottish Government employees.

4) The options being considered in relation to the 2025-26 pay award for Scottish Government employees.

Response

1) The public sector pay policy sets the framework against which discussions relating to the 2025-26 pay award are held. While there is no formal timescale, the joint aim of the Scottish Government and recognised trade unions is to reach agreement on the 2025-26 pay award and implement the outcome as soon as possible after 1 April 2025.

2, 3 &4) No formal discussion on the 2025-26 pay award has taken place. We expect this engagement to begin soon.
