Response

I enclose a copy of most of the information you requested; please note that I expanded the search terms to include the abbreviations “AA(s)”, “PA(s)” and “MAP(s)”. The following exemptions apply to the information provided:

All emails: section 38(1)(b) (personal information) of FOISA applies to that information. The reasons why that exemption applies is because it contains personally identifiable information.

Email chains 4 and 6: section 30(b)(ii) applies to that information. The reason why that exemption applies is because it contains a free and frank exchange of views between the Scottish Government and the General Medical Council. This exemption is marked in the email as it is not easily distinguishable from section 38(1)(b) exemptions.

Email chains 12, 13 and 14: Section 27(1) applies to the attachments as the information relates to papers for the MAPs Programme Board and is intended for future publication on the NHS Education for Scotland website.
