Pay information of suspended staff at the Scottish Government: FOI release
Information requested
How many Scottish Government members of staff are currently suspended on full pay? Please state the length of time each staff member has been suspended, if this is not possible, please break them down by those suspended for a year or more, three months or more or one month or more. For each, can you please provide their annual salary. If this is not possible, please provide the salary range/ band along with details of pay grades within the band. If possible, a broad description of why they are suspended.
Response
In your request, you asked for information about members of staff. Our response therefore covers Scottish Government staff employed in the core directorates (see Annex A for details).
You have asked for information about the number of staff who are currently suspended on full pay. Suspension is only used in very exceptional circumstances and in line with our policies and ACAS guidance. The need to suspend a member of staff is kept under regular review.
As of 14 May 2024, there were three (3) staff members who were currently suspended on full pay:
