Information requested

Please can I request the following information under the Freedom of Information Act.

1.During Mairi McAllan’s meeting on the MPV Hirta on Orkney on 12 July 2023 as part of her summer tour, was this vessel brought specifically in for this meeting? 2.If yes to no. 1, how much did it cost to bring in the MPV Hirta for this meeting?

Response

1. No. Marine Directorate can confirm that Marine Protection Vessel Hirta was already scheduled for a crew half-landing which was proposed for Kirkwall after the vessel had been on tasking within the Orkney area. As the vessel was already in port, we were able to facilitate the meeting with Ms McAllan and did not bring the vessel in specifically for this reason.

2. Not applicable as answer to question one was no.
