Details of all cases brought by William Beggs against the Scottish Government along with the date to the nearest day, month or year possible the case was first brought and the nature of the case? So, for example, if the case relates to a judicial review over a decision of the parole board, for example can those outline details be listed? Secondly, can all legal costs associated with each case be provided?"

Response

I enclose a copy of the information you have requested in the format you asked for.

Annex A lists cases held by the Scottish Government, with dates when case brought and the associated legal cost. The Scottish Government is not required to keep records of legal costs for more than seven years. All the cases listed can be accessed on the Scottish Court and Tribunals Service website Home | Scottish Courts and Tribunals Service with the exception of the House of Lords case which can be found on the internet.

For awareness

The Parole Board for Scotland is a Tribunal non departmental public body which is independent of Scottish Government and has its own legal advisers. If you wish to receive information about cases brought against this body you will need to make a request directly to the Parole Board for Scotland.
