On which department speciality holds the longest and shortest waiting list timeframe.

Response

I enclose a copy of some of the information you requested.

For the first part of your question regarding agreeing which patients are being seen at Golden Jubilee, its best I explain that Scottish Government does not have direct involvement in arranging service level agreements between boards.

I have included in this reply a letter to NHS Golden Jubilee which agrees their 25/26 capacity agreement and a letter to NHS Lothian regarding their allocation for ophthalmology for this financial year.

For the second part of your question around the longest and shortest waits, we have interpreted the request as you asking what speciality has the longest waiting times across NHS Scotland / Lothian. Under section 25(1) of FOISA, we do not have to give you information which is already reasonably accessible to you This information is published by Public Health Scotland in their dashboard which can be found here Stage of Treatment Monthly Dashboard

ANNEX

Section 25(1): Information otherwise accessible

An exemption under section 25(1) of FOISA applies to some of the information you have requested. Section 25(1) of the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 (FOISA) exempts information from disclosure where the requester can reasonably obtain the information without asking for it under FOISA.

This includes information already published on the Scottish Government website and Scottish Parliament website. This exemption is not subject to the ‘public interest test’, so we are not required to consider if the public interest in disclosing the information outweighs the public interest in applying the exemption
