Information requested

If the Scottish Government intends to pursue the prosecution of individuals connected to the Iranian Government for their alleged involvement in the Lockerbie bombing of 1988.

Response

The answer to your question is no. This is because the Scottish Government is not responsible for the prosecution of alleged criminal offences in Scotland and as such, does not make decisions relating to the prosecution of individuals alleged to have committed criminal offences. This is a matter for the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service (COPFS) who are operationally independent of the Scottish Ministers. Information on how to make an FOI request to COPFS can be found at https://www.copfs.gov.uk/contact/freedom-of-information-requests/. About FOI

The Scottish Government is committed to publishing all information released in response to Freedom of Information requests. View all FOI responses at http://www.gov.scot/foi-responses.
