Equality and Human Rights Funding for British Deaf Association: FOI release
Information requested
Confirmation of whether the Equality and Human Rights funding for the British Deaf Association is being spent in Scotland only, a full breakdown on each year’s funding, and what the funding is being spent on.
Response
The funding allocated to the British Deaf Association from the Equality and Human Rights fund is being used to deliver work in Scotland. Some of the online information may have reach beyond Scotland. 55% of funding is used to employ staff based in Scotland, 24% on programme related expenditure and 21% on a contribution to overheads (which may include those of the UK wide organisation). Some of the information you have requested is available from the Inspiring Scotland website, where the 6 months progress report reporting the work completed between October 2021 and March 2022 can be found: Equality and Human Rights Fund - Inspiring Scotland. Under section 25(1) of FOISA, we do not have to give you information which is already reasonably accessible to you. While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance the Scottish Government does not have some of the information you have requested. The reasons why we don’t have the information are explained in the Annex to this letter.
