Response

For some years there are more than one minimum amount depending on their circumstances which include, but not limited to, when the student started their course or if they stayed at home. All the amounts are taken from the funding guides for these sessions. SAAS have records dating back to session 2001-2002. The information you have requested is presented in the attached excel spreadsheet. In academic sessions 2001-2002 to 2012-2013, where stated, we paid the ‘full-year’ rate of loan if they were in any year except the final year of a course that lasts more than one year, or were doing a PGCE or a PGDE. We paid the ‘final-year’ rate of loan if they were in the last year of their course or were studying an HNC or other one-year course. There were also different loan amounts for students studying a normal undergraduate course to students study an Allied Health Profession course or in fifth year of a medical or dental degree in academic years 2001-2002 to 2012-2013.
