Information requested

The total spend on the marketing and advertising of teacher vacancies for the years: 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021.

Response

While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance the Scottish Government does not hold the information for the total spend on advertising teachers vacancies, as the recruitment and employment of teachers in schools are matters for local authorities. This letter therefore serves as formal notification under Section 17(1) FOISA that some of the information you requested is not held. To obtain information on spend on the advertising of teacher vacancies by local government, you will need to contact individual local authorities. I have therefore only been able to include some of the information you have requested. Please find below total advertising marketing spend on Teacher Recruitment by Scottish Government for the last five full financial years, covering the years requested. Please note in 2020-21 the campaign was delivered by Education Scotland, via funding supplied by Scottish Government.
