Scottish Government employees in capacity of Human Rights: FOI release

How many people are employed in the Scottish Government in any capacity regarding Human Rights.
Response
All Scottish Government employees have a role to play in helping to ensure that government activity complies with relevant legal obligations (in particular those in the Human Rights Act 1998 and the Scotland Act 1998) and is consistent with the government’s overarching commitment (reflected in the National Performance Framework) to respect, protect and fulfil human rights. More specifically, there are currently (at the time of writing) a total of 18 members of staff employed within the Scottish Government’s Human Rights Division. The Deputy Director in charge of the Division reports to the Scottish Government’s Director for Equality, Inclusion and Human Rights, who reports in turn to the Director-General for Communities.
