3. While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance the information is not available to your specific request for school inspector numbers. Our system does not record the area of inspection on which each HM Inspector focuses, so we have provided you with the total number of HM Inspectors, rather than those who only focus on school inspections. We hold data on the staffing levels within the dedicated inspection administration team from 2018 when the team was created and have included this below. It should be noted that these staff members provide support to HM Inspections across all sectors - not just those involved in school inspections. This is a formal notice under section 17(1) of FOISA that Education Scotland does not have some of the information you have requested.
