Information requested

1. How many ill health or injury on duty pensions have been provided to serving Police Officers since January 2020 to March 2021. 2. How many ill health or injury on duty pensions have been provided to Police Officers who had already left service. I am only interested in pensions awarded since January 2020 to March 2021.

Response

1. Two new injury cases have been paid. There were 79 new Police ill health awards put in to payment between 1 January 2020 and 28 February 2021 and none (zero) to Police Officers who had left service. 2. None (zero) although it should be noted that an Injury Award is usually processed and paid months (anywhere between 3 to 9 months average although some can be longer) after a Police Officer’s actual retirement date.
