Information requested

A split of the total number reported as having received the first dose of the vaccine for JCVI priority group 1, on 7 February (29,863), into two categories, older adult care homes (estimated 30,000 residents) and other care homes (estimated 2,000 residents).

Response

Data published on 7 February showing that 29,863 people in care homes had received a first dose of the vaccine, cannot be broken down into the different types of care home, however given the population sizes of older adult care home residents and other care home residents, the vast majority of these vaccinations will be of older people care home residents in line with the vaccination programme. Public Health Scotland (PHS) publish daily vaccination figures on their COVID-19 dashboard, including data by sex, age and location (NHS Health Board and local authority). The PHS dashboard will continue to be developed, with vaccinations by other JCVI priority groups (including older adult care home residents) to be added soon. Scottish Government are working closely with PHS to consider future developments on vaccination reporting, including the scope for more granular breakdowns, such as by care home type. About FOI
