What statistics are available detailing the number of individuals aged over 50 that have been offered full time or temporary employment within the Scottish Government and its departments / subsidiaries over the last 5 years and what that number represents as a percentage of the overall number of contracts of employment offered.

Response

The statistics provided in the attached annex detail the number of job offers (permanent and temporary) made by the Scottish Government and its Agencies over the last 5 years. These are broken down by candidate age (over and under 50 years old) and are shown as both the actual number and as a percentage of offers made in the period.

Directly employed job offers (includes both internal and external candidates) made in each of the last 5 years by age group and by permanent or temporary.
