Wild wrasse fishery - introduction of voluntary control measures correspondence: EIR release
Information requested
You asked for all correspondence between the Scottish Government, the Scottish Environmental Protection Agency and both the SSPO and salmon farming companies relating to the wild wrasse fishery since the introduction of voluntary control measures for that fishery.
Response
I enclose a copy of all of the information you requested in the format you asked for.
Some of the information you have requested is available from a previous information request. From the following link, you will find the CEFAS wrasse report which was attached to correspondence you have requested: https://www.gov.scot/publications/foi-18-00461/.
While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance we are unable to provide some of the information you have requested because an exception(s) under regulation(s) Reg 11(2) (Personal data relating to third party) of the EIRs applies to that information. The reasons why that exception(s) applies are explained in the Annex to this letter.
Reasons for not providing information - Annex Exception applies
An exemption under section Reg 11(2) (Personal data relating to third party) of the EIRs applies to a small amount of the information requested because it is personal data of a third party, i.e. names and contact details of individuals, and disclosing it would contravene the data protection principles in Article 5(1) of the General Data Protection Regulation and in section 34(1) of the Data Protection Act 2018. This exemption is not subject to the ‘public interest test’, so we are not required to consider if the public interest in disclosing the information outweighs the public interest in applying the exemption.
About FOI The Scottish Government is committed to publishing all information released in response to Freedom of Information requests. View all FOI responses at http://www.gov.scot/foi-responses.
