Correspondence addressed to any Scottish Minister received by the Scottish Government is recorded on the Scottish Government Ministerial and Corporate Correspondence System (MACCS). 124,824 pieces of correspondence have been added to MACCS since Nicola Sturgeon became First Minister. 29,958 of those were recorded as addressed to the First Minister.

How many have been responded to?

In line with Cabinet Office guidelines the Scottish Government aim to respond to all Ministerial Correspondence within 20 working days of receipt. Since 20 November 2014 88% of all cases have been responded to within 20 working days.

The average time people have to wait for a response?

The Scottish Government does not record the average time of response for ministerial correspondence.
