Information requested

Details of any correspondence between any members of the Scottish Government and Clair Fyvie between February 2016 and March 2017 which you clarified was in relation to the Scottish Child Abuse Inquiry.

Response

We have identified that a phone call took place between the Deputy First Minister and Cabinet Secretary for Education and Skills, John Swinney, MSP and Claire Fyvie on the 4 July 2016. There was no note of the call taken, however I have attached a copy of the diary entry for the call at Annex A.

We have also identified a single piece of correspondence that falls under the scope of your request. This piece of correspondence is available from the Scottish Government website at www.gov.scot/Topics/People/Young-People/protecting/child-protection/historical-child-abuse/whatsaninquiry. Under section 25(1) of FOISA, we do not have to give you information which is already reasonably accessible to you. If, however, you do not have internet access to obtain this information from the website listed, then please contact me again and I will send you a paper copy.
