Information requested

Any legal advice offered by Scottish Government lawyers on the High Hedges Scotland Act that impacts on how the Act is applied in relation to "hedges" and the minutes of meetings around the Act both before and after coming into law.

On 13 July 2017, you asked to limit the FOI request to 'what the Minister knows and the minutes of meetings.'

Response

We have undertaken a search of our electornic records system as well as inbox searches and some of the information is listed below.

Whilst it is our aim is to provide as much information as possible, whenever we receive a request under the provisions of the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002, in this instance we cannot provide some of the information you have requested because various exemptions under FOISA apply.

The exemptions which apply, in the case of this request, relate for the following sections of the FOISA:

Section 29(1)(a) - formulation or development of government policy; Section 36(1) – legal advice; and Section 38(1)(b) - information is personal data, the disclosure of which would contravene data protection principles.
