Information requested

You asked for the data on the exclusion incidents motivation or contributory factor (where known), including homophobia/sexual orientation, separate to the reason for exclusion, but that this is not published. Ideally I would like to see the data for at least 5 years, but 10 would be preferable.

Response

This is a formal notice under section 17(1) of FOISA that the Scottish Government does not hold some of the information you have requested. While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, statistics on school exclusions were collected biennially, therefore the Scottish Government does not hold any data for 2015-16, 2017-18, 2019-20, 2021-22 and 2023-24. You may wish to contact individual local authorities for this information. In addition, some data has been suppressed to protect against the risk of disclosure of personal information.

About FOI
