Information requested

Information relating to ScotWind option fees, specifically:

1) Regarding the £756 million in ScotWind option fees that has been received, how much of this revenue has been used to date and for what purposes.

2) Can this list be broken down into individual projects where possible, and not just general themes.

Response

A total of £755.2 million was generated from the initial ScotWind leasing round.

To date £96 million of this funding has been spent, all of it in 2022-23. This was used to support the overall fiscal position, with pressures set out as part of the Emergency Budget Review in Autumn 2022 which can be found online here.

As the funding was used to support the overall fiscal position it is not possible to allocate this against individual projects.

The 2025-26 Provisional Outturn statement will set out the utilisation of ScotWind revenues in 2025-26. The 2026-27 Scottish Budget and Scottish Spending Review published in January 2026 set out planned utilisation for financial year 2026-27 onwards.
