Information requested
You asked for information on the allocation made to Public Services Delivery (PSD) Scotland for the National Centre for Rural and Island Health and Care for financial year 26/27, when it was received by PSD, and what costing it was based.
Response
I enclose a copy of all of the information you requested in the attached document.
The answer to your question is on 25 March 2026, the Primary Care Directorate of the Scottish Government confirmed to NES (later PSD Scotland) that funding of up to £993,000 would be made available for the rural and island programme. This rural and island programme is the continuation of the National Centre for Remote and Rural Health and Care. This confirmation was made of the basis of an options appraisal and outline business case submitted in February 2026.
The options appraisal identified areas and actions for improvement and set out a phased approach to future activity, as set out in a final business case. The final business case is due to be submitted to Scottish Government in October, upon such time a financial allocation for 2026-2027 will be confirmed.
