Funding for the remediation of Reinforced Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (RAAC) allocated to Clackmannanshire Council: EIR release
Information requested
I understand Clackmannanshire Council has now received grant funding through the Affordable Housing Supply Programme for RAAC remediation works.
Could you advise how much, when it will or has been paid, and whether it relates to particular blocks? Has any other funding been agreed for RAAC in Clackmannanshire?
Response
As the information you have requested is ‘environmental information’ for the purposes of the Environmental Information (Scotland) Regulations 2004 (EIRs), we are required to deal with your request under those Regulations. We are applying the exemption at section 39(2) of the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 (FOISA), so that we do not also have to deal with your request under FOISA.
This exemption is subject to the ‘public interest test’. Therefore, taking account of all the circumstances of this case, we have considered if the public interest in disclosing the information outweighs the public interest in applying the exemption. We have found that, on balance, the public interest lies in favour of upholding the exemption, because there is no public interest in dealing with the same request under two different regimes. This is essentially a technical point and has no material effect on the outcome of your request.
The answer to your question is:
The Scottish Government’s grant funding approved for the Voids Remediation Works for Council owner properties in 3 blocks in Tillicoultry is £817,333 The grant funding will be paid when the work is complete in each of the 3 blocks – this is expected over the 26/27 and 27/28 financial years. The funding relates to the Blocks at 35-51 High Street, 6-22 Park Street and 75-97 Chappelle Crescent – all in Tillicoultry. No other grant application have been submitted to the Scottish Government.
