Cladding Remediation Programme information: EIR release
Information requested
1. The list of properties that have undergone a Single Building Assessment and are on a defined remediation pathway?
2. How many of these properties have secured funding for remediation?
3. How many properties have had remediation completed?
Response
1. I enclose a copy of most of the information you requested.
Whilst our aim is to provide information whenever possible, under regulation 10(5)(a) of the EIR’s, a public authority may refuse a request for information as its release may be prejudice to international relations, defence, national security or public safety. This exception applies for part of your request, specifically the request for a list of properties, because disclosure of this particular information would, or would be likely to, prejudice substantially public safety. The releasing of names and/or addresses of buildings into the public domain could risk wilful fire-raising, by individuals who may obtain this information and therefore presents a significant risk to public safety.
2. The list of properties that have undergone a Single Building Assessment and are on a defined remediation pathway includes buildings where developers have accepted responsibility for remedial works and therefore have no funding to secure. No Scottish Government funding has yet been secured to undertake remediation works on the remaining buildings. Funding has, however, been secured for urgent interim measures, including waking watches and fire alarm systems.
3. Essential cladding works have been completed for one building.
