Minister for Drugs & Alcohol Policy and Sport comment on UK Government spending review: FOI release

Appearing on BBC Scotland’s Debate Night programme on 11th June 2025, Maree Todd was asked about the UK Government’s spending review, and said:
“I don’t think we’re going to get extra money as a whole government”
Please provide any information held by the Scottish Government which substantiates the claim that the spending review did not deliver any extra money for the Scottish Government.
Response
The implications of the UK Spending Review on the Scottish Government are set out below, the Scottish Government does not hold any information which states that no extra money was provided. Over the years covered by the spending review our resource block grant increases from £41.6 billion in 2025-26 to £45.0 billion in 2028-29. This represents an average increase of 2.65% in cash terms year on year (0.8% in real terms).
Over the period to 2029-30 our Capital block grant will increase from £6.3 billion in 2025-26 to £6.7 billion. This represents a 1.64% cash terms increase year on year however in real terms this equates to a reduction of 1.14% in real terms year on year
