Information requested

My question, for clarification, is what were the cost and associated costs which were taken into consideration when deciding against a public awareness campaign to raise awareness of Thrombosis? A cause of death which amounts to 1 in 4 of all deaths.

Response

In terms of full disclosure, we aim to make all information available where possible. However, as we set out in our letter to you dated 11 March 2025, there was no specific cost calculation made.

The Scottish Government receives many requests to run public awareness campaigns that cover a range of important topics and we assess all of these carefully so that we can prioritise which topics our resources can be allocated to.

There are no current plans to run a campaign on thrombosis, at this time, but we do keep our plans under constant review.
