Police pension scheme members in receipt of Remediable Service Statements (RSS): FOI release
Information requested
1. Can you share how many police pension scheme members have received their RSS to date and whether you are on track to meet the statutory deadline?
2. Have you completed phase one for those who retired on grounds of ill-health etc.?
3. Why did you remove reference to ‘specific dates’ when the 31st of March 2025 is the regulatory deadline?
4. What measures are in place to ensure this RSS deadline is met?
5. What are the ramifications should this deadline not be met?
Response
1. 108 retired Police pension scheme members have received their RSS as at 7 March 2025. SPPA will endeavour to get as many RSS out by the statutory deadline. Link to SPPA website for latest updates is here: https://pensions.gov.scot/news/sppa-provides-update-revised-remedy-delivery.
2. No, only a small number have been issued at this time. We will endeavour to get as many accurately completed as soon as is practically possible.
3. SPPA have recently reviewed and revised the dates we have set out on our website in line with our delivery plan and system capability to provide RSS.
4. Plans have always been in place to ensure RSS are issued at the earliest opportunity, however, SPPA have presented the Agency’s position to the Pension Regulator to make them aware of what the likely position will be at the end of March.
5. The Pension Regulator has been informed of SPPAs anticipated position, but the Agency is as yet unsighted of what subsequent action will be taken should the deadline not be met.
