Information requested

1. Since 01 April 2022, how many Police Officers retiring from Police Scotland were/are subject to the pension remedy.

2. Since 01 October 2023, how many of those retired officers have been issued with an RSS.

3. How many retired officers are still waiting for their RSS to be issued.

4. What penalties are in place for the SPPA, if they fail to provide officers with their RSS by 31 March 2025.

Response

1. Since 01 April 2022, 2,172 Police Officers retiring from Police Scotland were/are subject to the pension remedy.

2. Since 01 October 2023, 805 of those retired officers have been issued with an RSS.

3. Approx. 5000 retired officers are still waiting for their RSS to be issued.

4. The Pension Regulator has been informed of SPPAs anticipated position, but the Agency is as yet unsighted of what subsequent action will be taken.
