Reasons for civil servant dismissals: FOI release

In the Statistical bulletin – Civil Service Statistics: 2024, column G (“Headcount of all leavers from the Civil Service for the following cause: Dismissal”) of Table 42 (“Civil Service leavers by government department and leaving cause, from 1 April 2023 to 31 March 2024”) notes that 160 civil servants were dismissed from the Scottish Government.
Can you please provide reasons for each dismissal using one of the following categories?
1. Poor performance 2. Misconduct 3. Long-term illness 4. Other

I enclose a copy of some of the information you requested in the table that you have provided.
While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance the Scottish Government does not have some of the information you have requested. In your request, you have requested details of staff dismissed by the following organisations:

You will note that there is a discrepancy between the information which I have provided and the information that is stated within the Civil Service statistical bulletin. The information provided in the Civil Service statistical bulletin is rounded to the nearest five, whereas as I have provided you with the exact number of staff that were dismissed.
