Information requested
Please provide the name, organisation and area of expertise for each member of the Investment Panel that reviews applications to the Carbon Neutral Islands Fund.

As the information you have requested is ‘environmental information’ for the purposes of the Environmental Information (Scotland) Regulations 2004 (EIRs), we are required to deal with your request under those Regulations.
Responding to this request has been done so with a presumption in favour of the release of information, with the use of exceptions undertaken in a restrictive manner and where necessary giving consideration to the public interest test.

1 Scottish Government Team lead Extensive experience leading policy in an island/climate change 2 Scottish Government Unit Head Wide-experience across low carbon energy development and building carbon emissions reduction. 3 The Scottish Futures Trust Senior AssociateDirector A key knowledge of investment and infrastructure, as well as a wealth of prior experience of investment panel assessments and capital fund delivery. 4 The Scottish Futures Trust Associate Director Extensive experience of design and technical advisory for the built environment and industry. 5 Highlands and Islands Enterprise Head of Team A wealth of experience with net zero programme delivery in an island context. 6 University of Strathclyde Professor Extensive Experience in islands law and policy at both national and international levels. 7 Community Energy Scotland High-level position Extensive experience in third sector management in a variety of sustainable development fields. 8 Development Trust Association Scotland Board Member A wealth of lived island experience and a key delivery partner in the extensive 2019 consultation process which informed the first National Islands Plan. 9 Young Islanders Network Member A passion for island issues with a special interest in marine litter. 10 Young Islanders Network Member Involvement with rural and island discussions across various platforms including cross party group conferences and the Rural and Islands Youth Parliament.
Exceptions apply
An exception under regulation 11(2) of the EIRs (personal information) applies to some of the information requested because it is personal data of a third party and disclosing it would contravene the data protection principles in Article 5(1) of the General Data Protection Regulation and in section 34(1) of the Data Protection Act 2018. This relates to names and job titles in the above table. This exception is not subject to the 'public interest test', so we are not required to consider if the public interest in disclosing the information outweighs the public interest in applying the exception.
