Information requested

I would like to make a FOI request regarding the Todrig Judicial review, that took place in January 2026.

It is understood that the Scottish Government lost the judicial review and has had to pay its legal costs, and some legal costs incurred by the petitioner.

Please could you provide the total legal cost incurred by the Scottish Government from this judicial review, with a breakdown of its own legal costs and legal costs of the petitioners (for which the Scottish Government has to pay).

Response

Scottish Forestry paid £77,931.50 to the Scottish Government for legal expenses related to the Todrig judicial review. It is also expected to cover the other party's costs, up to a maximum of £30,000, although the exact amount has not yet been settled.
