Appointment of an individual to the office of sheriff: FOI release
Information requested
The standard terms and conditions or contract or particulars of employment or appointment given to a sheriff on appointment, as of today's date.
Response
In accordance with section 4(2) of the Courts Reform (Scotland) Act 2014 it is for His Majesty to appoint an individual to the office of sheriff. Such an appointment is effected by the issuing of a Royal Warrant. I enclose a copy of the most recent template of such a Warrant.
On appointment as sheriff, individuals are issued with a letter setting out further information regarding their appointment. I enclose a copy of the most recent template of this letter.
