Response

To clarify, Scottish Government attendance at the Public Audit Committee evidence session on 19 September 2024 was as follows:

Michelle Quinn, Interim Director General of Net Zero Kersti Berge, Director of the Energy and Climate Change Directorate. This sits within the above Net Zero portfolio. Catherine Williams, interim Deputy Director of the Water Policy Division. This sits within the above Energy and Climate Change Directorate.

Only one directorate is responsible for leading the sponsorship of WICS. This is the Directorate for Energy and Climate Change. The sponsorship of WICS is undertaken by the Water Policy Division. For the period of the section 22 report there were three individuals in the Water Policy Division for whom a part of their role included the day to day sponsorship of WICS.
