Information requested

1. The number of applications received for adjudication since the end of the Cost of Living (tenant protection)(Scotland) Act 2022.

2. Whether there has been a notable increase in applications following the end of the Cost of Living (tenant protection)(Scotland) Act 2022 as compared to before the Act came into force.

3. The number of adjudications which have subsequently been referred to the first tier tribunal.

4. The average percentage rent rise which has been reported to the Rent Service Scotland for adjudication since 1 April 2024 to present day.

5. The highest percentage rent rise which has reported to the Rent Service Scotland for adjudication since 1 April 2024 to present day.

6. The average percentage rent rise which has been reported to the Rent Service Scotland for adjudication since 1 March and 1 April 2024.

7. The average number of days taken to respond to an application made to the Rent Service Scotland since 1 April 2024, broken down by month.

8. The proportion of rent adjudications issued that have been appealed to the First-tier Housing Tribunal (Tribunal) over the last calendar year, broken down by month.

I enclose a copy of most of the information you requested (questions 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, and 7) in the Annex to this letter.

The Scottish Government does not have the information you have asked for at questions 3 and 8 because the First-tier Tribunal for Scotland (Housing and Property Chamber) (the Tribunal) has the information you are looking for.
