Information requested

I am writing to request information under the Freedom of Information Act. Please would you be able to supply me with satisfactory answers to the following questions:

1. What are the exact dates (and times, if available) of all road traffic collisions reported on the A9, from January 2020 to now (July 2024)?

2. Of these collisions, please indicate which incidents had a fatal outcome, and if so how many people died.

Response

The records we hold relate to collisions where someone is injured or killed, and which become known to Police Scotland. Therefore, we do not hold information on non-injury collisions.

The attached spreadsheet shows the dates and times of collisions on the A9 based on monthly records received from Police Scotland, with the most recent records being received on 11th July 2024. I have put these in order of severity and date and included a column to show the number of those killed in the fatal collisions.

Please note that the figures for 2024 are provisional as they are based on monthly returns received thus far from Police Scotland in 2024, with the most recent returns being received on 11th July 2024. This may be an incomplete picture of casualties up to that date due to a slight lag between records processed by Police Scotland and data availability. These figures are also subject to change due to subsequent corrections and late records.
