I enclose a copy of some of the information you requested. Please see attached correspondence between Humza Yousaf, his office and his advisers regarding his appearance at Climate Week in NYC between June 1 2023 and August 31 2023. While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance we are unable to provide some of the information you have requested because of exceptions under regulations 10(5)a, 12(4) d and e, 12(5) e and 13. The reasons why these exceptions apply are explained in the Annex to this letter.
Annex Please see the exemptions that have been used below, their justification and what information they relate to for this case:
12(4)d- details of all Ministerial engagements and expenses are proactively published by the Scottish Government, including the costs of travel and accommodation. Much of the information redacted here is intended for future publication and has therefore been redacted. 12(4)e- a significant amount of the information requested relates to internal communication between officials, special advisors and/or ministers discussing and making suggestions to one another. Some of this has been exempted under the regulation for internal communication, allowing those involved to think in private. 12 (5) (e)- commercially sensitive information has been redacted. 12(5) (f)- some information not publicly available provided to us by a stakeholder has been redacted. 13- as this release includes emails, the personal information of officials below SCS has been redacted.
