Information requested

To provide you with information about the number of formal grievances raised where the main cause was cited as bullying or harassment, or one of the protected characteristics set out in the Equality Act (2010). You also requested information on the number of FTE staff employed by the Scottish Government, as well as information on the number of employment law cases, and any settlement payments made to Scottish Government staff.

You requested this information for fiscal years 2018/19 to 2022/23. The information provided to you in our response covers the period from 6 April 2018 to 5 April 2023.

For the purposes of this response, I have assumed that when you used the term employment law cases, you were requesting details of any cases which have proceeded to an employment tribunal.

Response

I've attached a copy of the table which you submitted which has been populated with the information which you have requested. Please note that the information provided only covers the core Scottish Government Directorates (see Annex A).

In relation to the cost of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion training, please note that the information provided only covers training purchased by our HR Diversity and Inclusion team for core Scottish Government staff. It does not include any training courses which have been purchased locally by individual business areas as this information is not held centrally.
