As per the Scottish Public Sector Framework agreements for utilities the contract durations are.

Procurement - electricity framework agreement: 2019 to 2024 - gov.scot (www.gov.scot). Procurement - natural gas framework agreement - gov.scot (www.gov.scot).

Electricity - The Framework start date was 1 April 2018, for Scottish Procurement flexible wholesale electricity trading only. The start date for Supply of Electricity to public bodies and third sector organisations was 1 April 2019, for an initial two year period ending on 31 March 2021. There are options to extend for a further 3 x 12 month periods (1+1+1), meaning the maximum end date will be 31 March 2024. We have utilised two of the 12 months extension period options available, meaning the current end date will be 31 March 2023.

Gas - The Framework start date was 1 April 2019, for Scottish Procurement flexible wholesale of Natural Gas trading only. The start date for supply of Natural Gas to public bodies and third sector organisations was 1 April 2020, for an initial two year period ending on 31 March 2022. There are options to extend for a further 3 x 12 month periods (1+1+1), meaning the maximum end date will be 31 March 2025. Please note the 1st, 12 month period has been exercised, the current framework end date is 31 March 2023.
